Chapter 3: 0 Flaws in the Bank Robbery Plan!
Chapter 3: 0 Flaws in the Bank Robbery Plan! An RV sits quietly beside Corona Boulevard in Queens.
Rango squeezed into the slightly narrow door with difficulty, and glanced casually at the interior of the car.
On one side is a countertop that has been cleverly transformed into a shoe cabinet, and in the center are a sofa and a coffee table. Obviously, this sofa will be pulled out at night and used as a bed.
The kitchen occupies the entire rear of the car, which is equipped with a refrigerator, washing table, storage table, stove, etc.
Although the space is compact, the interior of the car is kept tidy and there are several green potted plants placed around, adding a bit of vitality to the small space.
"Beer or whiskey?"
"Beer, I don't want to get drunk on my first day back in New York."
Taking the cold beer thrown by Kevin, Rango slumped on the sofa, looked around, and asked curiously: "What's going on? Did you sell the house?"
“It was taken away by the bank.”
Kevin sat down opposite him and said with a carefree smile, "A lot of things have happened in the past few years since you left. My mother died in a car accident while working the night shift. The insurance company has been dragging its feet on paying compensation, and I can't afford the mortgage alone. But having an RV is better than sleeping on the streets."
Rango frowned and sighed, "Life is a f**king movie, bro."
He raised his glass and said solemnly: "Cheers to Dana, she is a great mother."
"Kindana!"
Looking at the two cans of beer raised in front of him, a smile appeared on Kevin's dark face. He raised the whiskey in his hand and drank it all.
"By the way, what was that song you were singing in the park just now?"
Rango wiped the corner of his mouth and asked curiously, "When you were a kid, you were afraid of bigger dogs. Now you have the courage to go shopping for free in Manhattan?"
Kevin waved his hands and explained: "First of all, I didn't steal those jewelry and bags. It was Doug and his gang who did it. I was just responsible for helping them sell the stolen goods and making some extra money. Secondly."
He said seriously: "It wasn't a bigger dog, it was a fucking Caucasian, bigger than an adult. I was only nine years old at the time, and it was a normal reaction to pee my pants out of fear!"
Seeing him trying to explain, Rango and Teddy looked at each other noncommittally and asked with a smile, "How are Doug and the others doing now? After I left New York, the happiest people should be these little hooligans."
As a white teenager in Queens, Rango was bullied by street thugs throughout his childhood.
However, having lived two lives and having the confidence given by the system, he did not become a submissive wimp.
When he was blackmailed again one night, he pulled a revolver from his schoolbag and shot the thugs several times in the thighs.
From then on, he carried a dagger and a bayonet with him, and would take out his weapon to fight anyone who dared to provoke him.
Over time, with this ruthless character, he made many friends and followers in Queens, and was considered a famous student bully in those days.
"They are hanging out with a biker gang boss named Dominic in Brooklyn. They have made a lot of money over the years, but that's not important, Rango."
Kevin suddenly paused, hesitating to say, "Do you still remember the mysterious disappearance of your parents?"
Rango's pupils shrank instantly, and he stood up abruptly, staring at Kevin: "Did you see them?!"
"Uh no, it's just"
The black boy recalled and said, "After you sold your house and went abroad, several men in uniforms and sunglasses wandered around your house for several consecutive nights. They were holding crosses and silver swords, which were used to exorcise demons. So, I think there might be some hidden reason behind your parents' disappearance."
After listening to Kevin's words, Rango slowly sat back on the sofa, tapping his fingers lightly on the armrest, and fell into deep thought.
Nine years ago, he was just a middle school student. One evening, when he returned home from school as usual, he opened the door and suddenly found that the house was empty, the walls were full of traces of fire, and the house was in a mess.
And his parents, who had just returned from a business trip, were nowhere to be seen! After investigation, the police said it was a fire, but no source of fire was found at the scene. All this made Rango feel very abnormal.
However, he was just a middle school student at the time and was unable to find out the truth.
After his sister died in childbirth, he was too disheartened to continue his studies at university and went directly to Africa with Cobb.
"never mind."
Shaking his head, Rango stopped thinking about it. After stubbing out his cigarette, he said to Kevin, "I will find time to investigate my parents' affairs. But right now, Emma is my biggest concern."
He repeated what the director had said in the orphanage. After listening, Kevin carefully looked at the man and the bear in front of him.
There's nothing much to say about Teddy, he still looks furry, and as for Rango. He was wearing an ordinary brown shirt and jacket with black jeans. Although the watch on his wrist looked quite good, it was not the Rolex he knew.
His childhood elder brother didn't seem to be as successful abroad as he had imagined. No wonder he was worried about buying a house and finding a job. Kevin, who thought he saw through Rango's difficulties, suddenly stood up from his chair. He glanced at the environment outside the RV alertly, and after making sure that he did not attract anyone's attention, he quickly closed the door and drew the curtains.
Then he turned on the light and pulled out a roll of paper from the compartment of the shoe cabinet.
"Kevin, what are you doing?"
"shush"
Kevin carefully spread the roll of paper in his hand on the coffee table, and then said seriously: "I have a plan. If it can be implemented smoothly, it will not only easily solve the problem of your house, but we can also make a lot of money!"
"Forehead"
Looking at the floor plan of Roslyn Savings Bank in front of him, Teddy couldn't help but wonder, "Are you planning to rob a bank?"
"That's right!"
Kevin's lips curled up into a confident smile, "Listen, I know this idea is crazy, but after my detailed planning over the past few years, I have come up with a perfect robbery plan with zero flaws!"
Then, without waiting for Rango and Teddy, who looked strange, to speak, he explained in detail: "First of all, we work in this bank, as cleaners or security guards, we can do anything, as long as we get in!"
"Then, we went to the bank every day, did all the work that needed to be done, gained the trust of the staff, and played them around!"
"sounds good"
Rango raised his eyebrows and nodded slightly. At least the plan sounded pretty reliable up to this point.
He then asked, "How do we get the money then? Blast the vault while they're away?"
"Haha, don't be impatient, buddy, this is the clever part of my plan!"
Kevin put his arm around his shoulder and said with a smug smile, "The bank will automatically transfer money to our cards! Weekly! Monthly! They won't even realize they've been robbed by us! And in 20 or 30 years, we can still walk out of the bank door openly without taking any risks!!!"
"."
Rango and Teddy were stunned after hearing this. It seemed like there was something wrong with this plan? "I understand." Rango took a deep breath and nodded. "Your plan is good, but before we act, I want to ask you something."
He turned his head to look at Kevin, who was still excited about his perfect plan, and couldn't help shouting, "Are you confusing bank robbery with work? Twenty or thirty years later? Have you ever seen a robber stay at the scene for decades?!"
"This"
Kevin was speechless after being asked this question. He was stunned for a long time before he smiled awkwardly and said, "It seems that I am really not cut out to be a gangster."
Rango smiled and shook his head, then explained: "You misunderstood, I have money, but I haven't been back to New York for a long time, so I was a little confused on the first day."
Teddy followed up and said, "That's right. With our business in Africa, we can buy hundreds of RVs like yours in one order. What Rango is worried about is not the house but the job."
"Work?"
Kevin was puzzled when he heard this and said, "Why worry about this? The businesses on Roosevelt Avenue are hiring almost every day. With your qualifications, Rango, you can pass the interview at any one of them."
"Dishwasher? Salesperson? Cashier?"
Rango asked directly, "Do you think that if I do this kind of work, the orphanage director with a temper as hard as a rock will agree to let me adopt Emma?"
"Yeah, that's true." Kevin nodded in agreement.
In their country, even for direct relatives, the screening criteria for adopting a white woman are very strict.
"correct!"
The black boy suddenly looked up and raised a finger, saying, "My uncle's museum is recruiting night security guards. I heard the salary is very good. The director of this museum is a famous upper-class figure in New York. If you pass the interview and have the director's endorsement, there will be no problem in adopting Emma!"
"security guard?"
Rango frowned. He made millions of dollars from Africa not to be a doorman for others.
However, if Emma can be successfully adopted, it is not impossible to use her as a transitional child. After nodding secretly, he asked, "Where is the address?"
"Manhattan, New York Museum of Natural History!"
